Elana is a lifelong athlete. She has certifications in Indoor Cycling, Barre, TRX and Yin Yoga. Elana has her CanFit Pro Pre and Post Natal Fitness Specialist Certification.

Fun Fact: At the halfway mark, Elana ran the wrong way during her first and only marathon (thus no "split time" appears on any record).


Jon is the co-owner of Cyclone and is certified in Spin and TRX.

Fun Fact: Jon can do a great Mr. Bean imitation (but don't tell him we told you!)


Michael is certified in as a Personal Trainer (CanFitPro) and has certifications in indoor cycling (through Reebok and Schwinn) as well as certifications in Physic Mind, Pilates; TRX; Resist A Ball, and Ball.

Fun Fact: Michael recently got a very cool Mohawk.


Darrah is a certified 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Teacher (TAYS, Halifax) as well as in indoor cycling instructor through

Fun Fact: A photo of Darrah and her sister was featured on the Girl Guides of Canada cookie box for three years in a row.


Laurel is a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200), Kettlebell and Barre Instructor.

Fun Fact: Laurel loves to sing and dance! Her favourite movie is The Sound of Music (also her Dad's favourite) and wanted to be a Broadway performer when she was little (actually, she still does!). 


Stewart is an Indoor Cycling + Core Instructor at Cyclone.


Bill has his Schwinn / Kaiser and Rebook spin certifications and advance theory on weight resistance and training.
He had conducted spin certification seminars and advance spin instruction workshops.

Fun Fact: As an aging fitness buff for the past 40 years, Bill is always learning, always searching and always updating ways to maintain his fitness level as well as guide and teach the young.

MEET Jolene

Jolene is a very passionate yoga teacher who brings with over 10 years of teaching experience and varied styles. She is an E-RYT 500 certified teacher and also holds certifications in Power Vinyasa, Prenatal, Postnatal, YogaBody Bootcamp™ and Yin Yoga, in addition to being a life coach. She loves to connect with people and offers her students a challenging and compassionate environment in which to thrive not strive. 

Fun Fact: Jolene can mostly be found in rinks and she loves Rummy-O (the game) and watching her kids shine bright.

Fun Fact: Lauren makes a mean meat pie and loves to knit. Basically, she is 100. 

Meet Chris

About five years ago Chris stumbled into a kettle bell class just at a time when he really needed a change to his fitness routine (i.e. he needed one). He has been addicted to the ‘bells ever since. Chis is an Agatsu Certified Kettlebell instructor and is also a certified TRX Group Fitness Trainer.

Fun Fact: Outside Cyclone, Chis is most likely to be found wearing a hot sauce T-shirt while cooking, reading about wine and having tickle parties with his kids.

Meet Darryl

Darryl is a Can Fit Pro certified personal trainer who specializes in movement, calisthenics and draws from 18 years of martial arts experience from 7 different styles.

Fun Fact: Darryl can sometimes be spotted hosting solo dance parties with nothing but the music in his own head.


Meet Stephanie

Steffe is a former runner turned spin enthusiast with a penchant for strength training. She is a TRX and spin instructor.

Fun Fact: Steffe road-tripped the south coast of Iceland and slept out of converted van.


Meet Sabrina

Personal trainer, group fitness, spin, and barre. Sabrina has her CanFit Pro Pre and Post Natal Fitness Specialist Certification.

Fun Fact: I love Tabatas, burpees and lots of planks!

Meet Leanne

Leanne’s love of fitness started in the pool as a long time competitive swimmer. After ‘retiring’ from the sport, Leanne has completed certifications in personal training, kettlebell, and barre to help other uncover their love of fitness. 

Fun Fact: Leanne may single-handedly support Heartwood’s cookie business.

Instructors who have their CanFit Pro Pre and Post Natal Fitness Specialist Certification are able to modify any of their classes to provide a safe and effective workout with appropriate exercise selection and intensity to meet the individual needs of each pre & post natal woman.
