Cyclone Cycling was Atlantic Canada's first indoor cycling-only facility, dedicated to bringing unique and transformative cardio and strength building cycling classes to Halifax. We have since expanded our studio and changed our name to Cyclone Group Fitness, and are now offering TRX, Kettlebell, Barre, Circuit Training and Yoga classes. Cyclone's commitment to quality, integrity and excitement is integral to each class, and each client will leave the studio having had an experience that pushes their limits, in an energetic, motivational and non-intimidating environment.
Cyclone's instructors will lead you through a safe and challenging workout accompanied by a wide variety of musical selections. Cyclone's various amenities include free sweat towels on your bike when you arrive, cold wash cloths for when you cool down, filtered water delivered to you, and luxurious shower facilities for both men and women.
At Cyclone, we believe passion, a love of fitness, and strong community values combined with top of the line equipment, outstanding customer service, and inspiring workouts will bring a special experience each time you enter the studio. Cyclone will provide an experience like no other in Eastern Canada.
Since opening, Cyclone has been selected as a finalist for New Business of the Year and has ranked in the top three spots for the best gym in Halifax for two years in a row.
Elana Liberman, owner of Cyclone, has been an athlete her entire life. Her childhood provided the foundation for a lifelong love of physical activity and sport. She was a competitive, nationally-ranked, freestyle skier in her youth and her passion for athletics continued into her adulthood, participating in activities such as running, yoga, and dance.
Four years ago, Elana tried her first indoor cycling class. She was hooked – sweating to “the beat” combined everything she loved about physical activity. Fast forward, or in cycling terms, “sprint forward” and Elana found her athletic nirvana – teaching indoor cycling classes throughout Halifax.
Elana was inspired to build Cyclone when she found that she could create unique cycling classes that offered high energy, intense, and fun workouts. If you ask her about her classes or the creation of Cyclone, Elana's face lights up and she will tell you about her belief in building a healthier and happier Halifax.
Elana is also certified to teach TRX, Barre and Yin Yoga. She was recently chosen as Halifax's best fitness instructor and was chosen to receive the Progress Club's Woman of Excellence award in 2014. Elana is a regular guest on all of Halifax's major tv networks and has been featured in articles in publications such as Halifax Magazine.
When she's not sweating or encouraging others to sweat, Elana enjoys time with the three most important men in her life, Jon (her husband) and Ethan and Noah (her sons).
